Tedecia Bromfield
Tedecia Bromfield (they/them) is a Jamaican writer, poet, and emerging archivist whose work explores the intersections of queerness, identity, and cultural memory in the Caribbean. Through a multidisciplinary approach that blends archival research, experimental poetry, and visual storytelling, they examine histories often erased or obscured. Their work engages deeply with themes of language, grief, sexuality, and the socio-political landscapes that shape queer existence.
Tedecia is particularly interested in how historical documentation—or its absence—impacts collective memory and identity formation. Their practice reimagines Black queer histories through collaging, experimental forms, and research-driven storytelling, challenging dominant narratives. Their ongoing projects investigate the cultural interplay between queerness and BIPOC society, as well as the preservation of marginalized Caribbean histories.
